Roberto Canal Luna, aka Wow, began designing and making clothes as a teenager. He is self-taught and attributes his talent as a regalo de los dioses (gift from the gods). Roberto Wow is a quechua man of Inkan descent, his family from Ollantaytambo, Cusco, Peru since before the spanish invasion. His workshop is in his family home which is of Inkan construction right in front of the Ollantaytambo ruins. Each piece of clothing he creates is unique and sewn with respect for the ancestors. Wow embodies a spirituality of humility and connectedness to Pachamama, through the sacred spirit of the wachuma cactus. The Inkas come alive at wachuma wear!
The Chakana is one of the most used symbol in his designs, to read more about it chech CHAKANA.
